Entertainment

We specialise in a range of immersive entertainment experiences, including attractions, interactive apps, and innovative TV projects using AR and VR technology.

Attractions

Beyond the direct purpose of using AR and VR to inform and educate, the technology can also be used to enhance many other areas of communications within any business structure.

Global pharmaceutical company, Hospira were hosting a stand at an event for medical professionals and were looking for an experience that would draw attention, break down communication barriers and add an element of fun to a highly professional environment.

To meet their requirements we created a smart device app based around acrobatics that took a ‘selfie’ of the users and used their image to construct a vibrant 3D trapeze act scene for them to star in by using their faces on the characters. At the end of the experience users could also stand next to an AR representation of their character and take a photo with them for posterity.

The app worked very effectively at creating a memorable experience for attendees and was thoroughly enjoyed and complimented throughout the event.

Product Enhancements

Entertaining users is key to app longevity. One of our most popular apps has been created in conjunction with Craftis, who create a wide range of activity packs for kids. Our app is part of their offering of ‘Scan and Play’ AR activities which can be activated using content directly on the pack!

From minigames to bringing your colouring to life in AR, the Craftis AR app is freely available on the app stores. With activity packs readily for big brands such as TUI, Harvester, and Britvic, the app is exposed to thousands of users across the globe.

To help facilitate this global outreach the app is also localised for key languages; what better way to ensure anyone can pick up and use your app!

TV

Harmony Studios has been involved in some exciting TV entertainment projects. On the BBC’s Technobabble, we worked with Maya Jama to showcase augmented reality by bringing her to life in AR. Using live motion capture, she was able to control her AR self and even transform into amusing characters on screen.

We also collaborated with Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier on Dave, creating a VR pub experience where Jon and cast members appeared in a virtual pub, played games, enjoyed a virtual pint, and had some wild, hilarious fun.

At Harmony Studios we understand that entertainment is a key factor when it comes to app engagment and longevity. Entertainment apps don't need to be limited to games, and many entertainment aspects can be used alongside other key features via gamification.

We’ve developed engaging AR and VR experiences across various industries. Partnering with Craftis, we built an AR app that brings kids’ activity packs to life with minigames and interactive features. Additionally, we’ve worked on TV projects like BBC’s Technobabble and Dave’s Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier, creating immersive entertainment experiences using AR and VR.
